This academic year hit a bit differently for me, as my son also started college. I was ill-prepared for how empty the house would feel and, honestly, how sad I would be at first. Everyone kept telling me I should be happy that I raised a good kid who is off learning to be independent. That\u2019s the whole point, right? The end goal. He was so ready for it, barely batted an eye, but I wasn\u2019t. I spent the last 18 years working towards him graduating high school and starting college, not realizing that I hadn\u2019t done anything to prepare for daily life without him. Slowly but surely, I am figuring it out, just like all first-year students are finding their way around campus, meeting new friends, and adapting to life away from home. Just like you are adjusting to using Canvas and continuing to explore AI in the classroom, we are all finding our way.<\/p>\n
