{"id":2875,"date":"2019-10-16T08:30:03","date_gmt":"2019-10-16T12:30:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.richmond.edu\/lawlibrary\/?p=2875"},"modified":"2019-10-16T09:55:46","modified_gmt":"2019-10-16T13:55:46","slug":"working-and-thriving-in-a-small-firm-roadmap-book-from-the-lawyerist","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/create.richmond.edu\/lawlibrary\/?p=2875","title":{"rendered":"Working and Thriving in a Small Firm: Roadmap book from the Lawyerist"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Many of the law students and graduates from Richmond School of Law decide to work in solo law practice and smaller law firms.\u00a0 This can be a great way to establish connections with clients and work in a community where your contributions are recognized quickly.\u00a0 If you have any interest in work in a smaller law firm, we recommend this new book:\u00a0 <em><strong>Small Firm Roadmap<\/strong><\/em>.\u00a0 Subtitled &#8220;A Survival Guide to the Future of Your Law Practice&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2876 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/create.richmond.edu\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/50\/2019\/10\/small-firm-roadmap.jpg\" alt=\"Small Firm Roadmap book jacket\" width=\"250\" height=\"393\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This book is written by four of the people behind the Lawyerist community, which is a team providing\u00a0advice on law practice, law firm marketing, legal technology, legal careers, and law school success.\u00a0 To date, they&#8217;ve published more than 240 episodes on <a href=\"https:\/\/lawyerist.com\/podcast\/\">The Lawyerist podcast<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In this book, Street, Glover, Everett and Lichty have created a book with a conversational style and practical, outcome-based focus.\u00a0 The first part of the book introduces the reader to their background and overall journey in cultivating the Lawyerist community for more than a decade.\u00a0 This culminates in a &#8220;Small Firm Scorecard&#8221; that presents a list of core competencies accompanied by a proposed system of self-assessment.
