The Richmond Law Library is hosting a hands-on workshop focused on Access to Justice on Thursday, March 9th.\u00a0 \u00a0We’re offering free attendance for a limited number of law students.\u00a0 All other participants can attend for a small fee to cover food and related event costs. Registration details appear below.<\/p>\n

The Elevating Justice Institute offers collaborative sessions for participants to work in conjunction with presenters to explore topics and techniques in delivering legal services.\u00a0 Speakers include two current state judges, as well as several leaders in the Access to Justice movement. Registered attendees include librarians from several states, as well as members of the Richmond area legal community<\/p>\n

Support for the event is provided by the Virginia Law Foundation<\/a><\/strong> as well as a grant from the AALL \/ Bloomberg BNA Continuing Education Grant Program<\/a><\/strong>. The Virginia Law Foundation supports projects throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia that facilitate access to justice, promote an appreciation and understanding of the Rule of Law, and provide law-related education in support of these ideals.<\/p>\n

The purpose of the AALL\/Bloomberg Law Continuing Education Grant Program is to encourage educational program development and promote program sharing among law librarians. The Elevating Justice Institute takes place on the day before the two-day annual conference for the Southeastern Association of Law Libraries (SEAALL).<\/p>\n
