Thirty-seven years ago, the first Women’s History Month was celebrated and recognized in the United States. This year, Richmond Women’s Law has had a lot to celebrate. We celebrated mentorship with our Metropolitan Richmond Women’s Bar Association mentors. We celebrated the community we found at the University of Richmond School of Law through our faculty dinner series. We celebrated each other as we learned about work-life balance and women in various legal niches. We celebrated brighter futures for women through our philanthropic endeavors, raising money for breast cancer research and co-hosting a product drive for Safe Harbor. We celebrated all the women who have come before us through the Century of Women at Richmond Law.<\/p>\n

So much has changed since the first woman walked through the University of Richmond School of Law doors. Over the last century, more and more women have made up the graduating classes of Richmond Law (women comprise a majority of the current student body!). Our law school is being run by its first-ever female Dean, and women have occupied the halls of Richmond Law for more than a century. While so much has changed, one thing has not- women are leaders in the legal field, forging paths for those behind them.<\/p>\n

Serving as the President of Richmond Women’s Law this year has been an absolute honor and privilege. I hope we continue to celebrate each other, our accomplishments, and the community we find in one another.<\/p>\n

This year, RWL raised money for the Virginia Breast Cancer Foundation through our annual Fall Trivia at Three Notch\u2019d.<\/p>\n

At our Fall mentorship event, students were able to network with attorneys from the Metro Richmond Women\u2019s Bar Association<\/a>.<\/p>\n
