Thanks, Nikoloz!<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/richmond.primo.exlibrisgroup.com\/permalink\/01URICH_INST\/bs7hmb\/alma993571623606241\" target=\"_blank\">Antonio Vivaldi: The Red Priest of Venice<\/em> by Karl Heller<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/create.richmond.edu\/parsons\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2026\/04\/Vivaldi.jpg?resize=467%2C800&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Antonio Vivaldi: The Red Priest of Venice by Karl Heller\" width=\"467\" height=\"800\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7433\"><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/richmond.primo.exlibrisgroup.com\/permalink\/01URICH_INST\/bs7hmb\/alma993571623606241\" target=\"_blank\">Antonio Vivaldi<\/a> was an Italian composer born in Venice in 1678. He was also a priest, known for his red hair, which earned him the nickname &#8220;The Red Priest.&#8221; For much of his career, he worked at the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ospedale_della_Piet%C3%A0\" target=\"_blank\">Ospedale della Piet\u00e0<\/a>, a girls&#8217; orphanage and convent with a renowned music program. There, he served as violin teacher, composer, and music director, writing a vast amount of music for the talented students to perform.<\/p>\n<p>Vivaldi was incredibly prolific. He is best known for his set of violin concertos called <em><a href=\"https:\/\/fod.infobase.com\/p_ViewVideo.aspx?xtid=53281\" target=\"_blank\">The Four Seasons<\/a><\/em>, which uses music to paint scenes of spring, summer, autumn, and winter. <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/List_of_compositions_by_Antonio_Vivaldi\" target=\"_blank\">But that&#8217;s just a small part of his output<\/a>. He wrote over 500 concertos for various instruments, nearly 50 operas, and many sacred choral works.
