Parsons Playlists: Rainy Night

Welcome back to Parsons Playlists! Today’s playlist is curated by student assistant Hudson (class of 2030) and features songs to enjoy on a rainy evening.

Rainy Night Playlist

rainy night

With this playlist, I wanted to reflect the feeling of listening to the rain late at night. I decided to start it off with T.S.O.L.’s “Wash Away”, an exciting and upbeat song that I feel simulates the feeling and sound of an initial downpour during a storm. The playlist smoothes out from there as the rain becomes lighter. I chose to portray this with a selection of 80’s New Wave tracks (because who doesn’t like 80’s New Wave?).

T.S.O.L. – “Wash Away”

Eurythmics – “Here Comes the Rain Again”

The Church – “Under the Milky Way”

The Psychedelic Furs – “Heaven”

Billy Idol – “Eyes Without A Face”

Tears For Fears – “The Working Hour”

Siouxsie and the Banshees – “Hong Kong Garden”

Talking Heads – “Once In a Lifetime”

Joy Division – “Disorder”

The Smiths – “Heaven Knows I’m Miserable Now”

The Smiths – “The Night Has Opened My Eyes”

Depeche Mode – “People Are People”

INXS – “Never Tear Us Apart”

Hüsker Du – “Don’t Wanna Know If You Are Lonely”

Pixies – “Debaser”

Skinny Puppy – “Assimilate”
